Dead links quietly kill directories. Businesses close, sites move, domains expire — and a directory full of broken links loses visitor trust and search rankings. Directify watches every listing link for you, so your directory stays clean without manual audits.

How it works

• Zero setup — link checks are on for every directory from day one. Healthy links are rechecked weekly; failing ones daily.
• Three consecutive strikes — a link is only marked broken after 3 failed checks in a row, so a temporary outage never flags a healthy site.
• No false alarms from bot blockers — sites that merely refuse automated requests (Cloudflare challenges, rate limits) are never counted as failures.
• Fresh starts — fix a listing's URL and its health history resets; the new link is checked from scratch.

Where you see it

• Dashboard — a Link Health card shows "All good" or exactly how many listings link to dead sites, one click away from the filtered list.
• Needs your attention — broken links appear in your dashboard attention panel alongside pending submissions.
• Listings table — a Link Health badge (OK / Failing / Broken) with the failure reason on hover, plus a filter and a "Link Checked" timestamp column.

Keep your directory clean automatically

Prefer a hands-off directory? Turn on auto-unpublish (Settings → General → Listing Link Health) and Directify unpublishes listings after 3, 5 or 10 consecutive failed checks. Unpublished listings return to your pending queue — nothing is deleted, and you can republish anytime once the site is back.
